Bruins: Darnell Nurse will miss 6-8 weeks after shoulder surgery

BOSTON — Boston Bruins center Darnel Nurse will need surgery to repair a fractured orbital bone in his left shoulder, head coach Claude Julien announced Monday.

Nurse is expected to miss six to eight weeks after surgery.

Julien said the timetable was tentative.

Bruins head coach Joel Quenneville said in a statement that Nurse, who has missed 23 games with a lower-body injury, would play the next four games of the season.

Nurses last game of the regular season on Dec. 6 was against the Dallas Stars.

The Bruins have four games remaining before their Christmas break.
